I was born and raised in the small town of Muncy, Pennsylvania. Both my parents were school teachers and were very involved with me and my activities.
Mom started me in piano lessons when I was 8 and I think I had the strictest teacher on the planet. I took piano lessons for about 6 years.
My first “gig” came when I was a senior in high school. The Alumni Association booked me for their year-end banquet and I think they paid me $75 for a couple of hours of music—pretty good pay at that time.
After completing high school, I started nurses training. After about a year, I realized that this was not for me and I joined the US Air Force, auditioned for the Air Force Band of the Gulf Coast and so began my career in music.
I spent 9 years performing in jazz, rock and concert bands for the Air Force and I loved every minute of it.
After leaving the military, I started playing in clubs and restaurants all across Southern California. I was able to perform with various stars and three of our US Presidents.
My husband, Don, and I were married in 1993. Don sings and also plays keyboards. We had a Christian Rock Band together called “Reassigned.”
Today, I continue to play for weddings, banquets, parties, studios and keyboards in bands. I also teach piano—all styles and all levels.
Thanks, Mom, for never allowing me to quit!
